The purpose of this fact sheet is to define embedded literacy, language(ESOL) and numeracy, highlight the research which outlines the positive benefits of delivering embedded literacy, language or numeracy learning in vocational programmes and clarify how the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funds this type of delivery and how to record it on the Individualised Learner Record (ILR).
